My husband is a remodeling contractor and often an excellent test of how ‘sturdy’ a product is. He uses these tools daily, six days a week. The conclusion: DeWalt tools are DURABLE and an absolute must in the contracting field. The cordless, rechargeable battery gives you more options out in the field where the electric may not be hooked up yet. When charged in the morning, the tools last him all day while on the job. The hammerdrill was excellent for going through concrete. There is also a lot to be said for the compact, lightweight size. When you have a truck full of tools and often very little space, you appreciate the ease of these smaller sized drills that do a big job. The lighter weight and easy to carry bag also made it easy for me to bring the tools into the house if I needed them for a lighter job, such as putting in a screw for a picture frame or putting up curtain rods. The perfect gift for the guy or gal who have very little space and need tough tools that can help with numerous projects around the house. I also highly recommend it for college students who find they need to install beds, shelves, bookcases, etc. in their dorm rooms when they first move in. They’re easy to use and not heavy, making them perfect for a younger guy or gal who may not have much experience with drills. The batteries charge quickly and easily, as well as taking up very little storage space.

The hammerdrill is what I’ve used the most and, as expected, it’s quite powerful and comes loaded with functions, including a control collar that selects between three modes including: hammerdrilling, screwdriving, and drilling. Of course, the standard torque adjustment collar is right next to the control collar. In addition, there are the standard three speed settings as well as a helpful worklight and an attachable side handle. I use a power drill for home repair projects and this drill is unquestionably the most powerful I’ve ever owned, perhaps a bit too powerful for the casual user. It’s also a bit heavier than I’m accustomed to, coming in at about five pounds (with battery attached) while my 12v Ryobi was less than three pounds. Of course, this DeWalt more than makes up for the slight weight difference as it’s a veritable powerhouse. I’ll never pick up the Ryobi again!

As for the impact driver, there aren’t any variable functions, but there is a great worklight included, with the light emanating from three different points on the front of the driver. The included manual indicates that the impact driver chuck only accepts 1/4″ (6.35 mm) hex accessories and 1″ (25.4 mm) bit tips. Though the belt hook comes pre-attached to the impact driver, it can be easily removed or alternately attached to the hammerdrill. The storage & carrying bag fits the entire set comfortable including drills, charger, batteries and all – with room to spare for a few more tools. On the outside of the bag are two 4-inch pockets, one on either side. I’ve had the drills for nearly a week now and at this point I don’t have a single complaint. These are the first DeWalt tools I’ve owned, but considering the sturdy craftsmanship and overall great performance of the drills, I can certainly say these won’t be the last.

This is about the most usefull cooking device I have seen. It does everything you normally would typically do with a slow cooker plus roasting, searing, steaming and baking. Making a roast now allows you to do everything without dirting additional pots and control the cooking process as you want. The controls work well and allow a lot of flexibility.

Frigidaire 70 Pt. Dehumidifier great deal for the $$$$, September 10, 2011 – By Chris R. Bormann

I have only owned this Dehumidifier for a few days, but it does exactly what it was needed to do. I have a crawlspace under my kitchen and living room that is always damp. But Hurricane Irene just passed through and the air just reeked of dampness.

I was sold on this product after seeing another customers video review. I unpacked it from the box and it was ready to use in less than a minute. I only had to remove some protective tape and snap the shut-off float into position. It takes just over 4 hours to completely fill the container. (I will eventually connect a drain hose.) There is a window on the front with a red floating ball to confirm what the water level is without having to open up the container. I was happy to find that the container is front loaded and has a single carrying handle for spill-free handling, unlike the rear loaded type my parents have from 20 years ago. Also the unit has a pop-up carrying handle which is a nice feature for carrying it to the basement. I also liked that the blower discharge was from the top of the unit for better air circulation. By coincidence I had to install a dehumidifier and wire an outlet for a client today. They bought a Kenmore 70 pint dehumidifier from SEARS. They wouldn’t tell me what they paid for it, all they would say was that it was more money. So, of course I looked it up online when I got home. The SEARS Kenmore unit was $249.99 plus 6% tax. My Frigidaire unit through Amazon.com was $188.00 with free shipping and no tax. The Kenmore unit did not have a carrying handle on top or have the water level window and ball, and the blower discharge was out of the back of the unit.

I have never owned a dehumidifier before (My parents had them in the basement as a kid up north) but living in SW Florida I was tired of the house always feeling “muggy” even with the A/C on and having to run our bedroom ceiling fan all the time to stay cool. Since having this unit on each night, we all wake up in the morning with the covers and blankets over us despite not changing the temerature setting in our house from 78 deg.

The Frigidaire unit is supper easy to use. It’s easy to dump when full (has a nice handle on the container bucket and slides in and out of the main unit with ease) It has an alarm beeps 3 times and then it automatically shuts off the unit(Make sure it’s empty before running all night or it might be full at 3:00 AM and then beep loudly) It’s easy to clean the filter when needed and it’s easy to move the Frigidaire around with it’s wheels and handle. The unit is not very loud at all and now my kids like it’s sound to sleep by.

I run the Frigidaire about 12-15 hours and day and so far (6 weeks) it is doing great. I would certainly recommend this model to anyone looking for a home dehumidifier. The price was very good at under $200.00 and free shipping from Amazon. I have not yet tried hooking a hose up to it for continuous use yet. I just dump it when it’s full.

I only wish I would have purchased it sooner.
